FamilySearch: 24 Million baptisms & marriages from England

DearREADERS,
Ol' Myrt here just received a short communiqué from Paul Nauta of FamilySearch.org that reads:

FamilySearch added 24 million new names from England baptism and
marriage records to its pilot Record Search collection. The collection can
be accessed for free at
http://pilot.familysearch.org.

England Baptisms - 19,032,103 (names) 6,798,235 (records)
England Marriages - 4,924,366 (names) 1,787,802 (records)

The Record Search pilot is testing a new online digital image viewer and
search utilities that will be added to FamilySearch.org in the near future.

Do you get the importance of the last sentence?

“In the near future” is being used in relation to the term “online digital image viewer”
with regards to FamilySearch.org.

Paul is explaining that the new method for viewing document images (instead of microfilm) is being tested at the Record Search pilot area. Availability in the near future at FamilySearch.org's main site is eagerly anticipated by this researcher.

BRAVO!

Happy family tree climbing!
Myrt :)
