Honor traditions

DearREADERS,
Ol' Myrt here was busy with a granddaughter who spent the night, so last evening I opted out of listening to the 11 o'clock news. The morning newscasters told the story of the gunman opening fire & killing a security guard at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum yesterday, and it came as an unbelievable shock.

If there is one thing we as responsible genealogists must do -- it is to research without prejudice.

And as family historians it is our joy and privilege to honor the traditions of our ancestors.

Though we may be separated from our ancestors by generations, locality, culture, and religion, we delight in studying every tidbit of information that leads to greater understanding of the life and times of each individual progenitor. We also take delight when our friends and neighbors make progress in the same undertaking.

My heart goes out to friends in the Jewish community this day, together with prayers for peace and understanding.

Happy family tree climbing!
Myrt :)
