Late last night, Ol' Myrt here responded to a Facebook posting about Michael John Neill's Casefile Clues going on sale for cyber-Monday. Since I had been sewing all day, I missed telling my DearREADERS about the deal. Shortly after processing my $12 annual subscription order, I received an email from Michael with the glad news:
"In case your readers are interested, the discount is still on til midnight tonight West Coast time. Thanks! Michael."
So WHAT is Casefile Clues, and why is Ol' Myrt here so excited?
Distributed each week via email in .pdf format, Casefile Clues provides how-to advice to genealogists. Michael walks us through a research challenge, explaining the logic behind conclusions he draws about an ancestor with scanned images of real-life source documents.
This is just the sort of reasoning ability we need to develop if we expect to become competent genealogists. Beginners benefit by learning about documents they have not yet encountered in their personal research. Experienced genealogists respect Michael John Neill's work. All hone research skills by following another genealogist's analysis. We can never stop learning.
Here is the link to the extended cyber-Monday offer:
Once your subscription is processed, you can ask Michael to send you the back issues. THAT is a real education bargain. Thanks, Michael! Great work!
Happy family tree climbing!
Your friend in genealogy.
