St George: Family History Expo

DearREADERS,

The end of the month will find Ol' Myrt once again traveling to see folks at the St. George Family History Expo in southern Utah. Holly Hansen and her team have pulled together another great lineup of presenters and exhibitors ready to teach us new genealogy tricks.

This year our Keynote presenter is Glenn Rawson noted historian and host of the TV series "The Joseph Smith Papers".

DearMYRTLE's schedule includes:

Friday, February 25, 2011
10:00 am: How Ancestry’s Trees Can Jumpstart Your Research (All Levels) A live demo of uploading a family tree from one's computer to Ancestry Trees. Includes discussion of 3 privacy level settings, and 2 methods for getting Ancestry.com's computers to search for matches on each ancestor in the context of the family. Myrt doesn't work for Ancestry, but has concluded Ancestry Trees are an essential component of a reasonably exhaustive search.

Noon-4pm:- in the exhibit hall, to assist with setting up your blogs at the "Blog House" with the other geneabloggers.
