Bing surpasses Yahoo as second most popular search engine

DearREADERS,
As I prepare for today's upcoming MORE Blogging for Beginners webinar, across my desk comes comes a note from ZDNet with exciting news:

"Bing is certainly popular worldwide. StatCounter is reporting that Microsoft’s creation has passed up Yahoo! as the second most-used search engine globally." See: ZDNet's Bing Surpasses Yahoo...

Bit, by bit, Ol' Myrt here has noticed Yahoo's offerings have been slipping. For instance, unlike Google Reader, Yahoo's blog aggregating service takes 2-3 days to update.

We shall see how this internet race continues. For genealogy researchers who want to use the better tools, you might consider using Bing if you haven't experimented with it already.

Happy family tree climbing!

  1. That isn't saying much.

Yahoo is doomed. They should have taken Microsoft's money when offered. Now they are just on the road to irrelevance.

  2. I found Yahoo lacking way back when they bought out GeoCities and managed to delete my first genealogy website within days of giving me two months to update it or see it gone. At that point I left the Yahoo fold and have never looked back. That was in 1999...
