All-I am part of a NARA team that is working on the concept of automating the records pull slips. We are currently concentrating on requirements. We are still very early in this process. We invite you to attend one or both of two meetings to discuss what requirements/features you'd like to have in such an electronic system. Project director Rich Tomlinson will brief us about the project and lead the discussion of requirements. The meeting dates are:Archives 1, Thursday July 7, 2:00-3:00 Room G-24Archives 2 Tuesday July 12, 10:00-11:00 Lecture Room BWe will be posting this on the researcher blog.ThanksDiane
I hope you are able to make one or both of the meetings. If NARA is able to successfully implement this automation project, it will help to make it much easier to conduct research at the National Archives. In the event you are unable to attend one of these meetings, you might send an e-mail to Diane Dimkoff (Diane.Dimkoff@nara.gov) with any comments or thoughts on the project.
Happy family tree climbing!
