This morning brings news of the posting of the daily schedule of RootsTech 2012 events. Finally! We've been chomping at the bit to work through the offerings. New topics of interest to Ol' Myrt here include:
- Genealogical Uses for QR Codes Thomas MacEntee
- A New GEDCOM: Project Scope, Goals, and Governance Ryan Heaton
- Using Advanced Photographic Techniques to Recover Content from Damaged Documents Jack Reese
- E-Learning Software and Authoring Tools for Genealogical Education J. Mark Lowe
- The Galaxy Girls –three genealogists’ and their Android tablets Jill Ball
- The Powers of Evernote: photos, URL's, censuses, geo-location, and stories
Tevya Washburn
Kurt Francom - How the England and Wales 1911 Census Was Digitized Ian Tester
How about registering, booking your flight, and getting over here? While Utah cannot guarantee that this 55+ degree weather will hold out, I DO know you'll learn a TON and have a BLAST at RootsTech 2012.

DearMYRTLE,
Your friend in genealogy.

I'll see you there!
ReplyDeleteSounds like it's going to be such a useful conference!
ReplyDeleteDo you happen to know if they'll be putting out a syllabus/schedule that can be downloaded? It's a bit of a pain having to click into each topic to read the description.
Thanks!
@Shannon,
ReplyDeleteI'll ask FamilySearch about the downloadable schedule. I cannot imagine they will make the syllabus available to non-registrants, but the schedule with class descriptions certainly makes sense to make available as a .PDF downloadable to our tablets.
Myrt :)
