What's NaNoWriMo?

DearREADERS,
What do 30 days, 50,000 words and 300,000 writers have in common? It's the 2012 National Novel Writing Month challenge. This may be just the ticket to get you going on writing that book that's been kicking around in your head for months, perhaps years.

I'm IN. Ol' Myrt here is finally going to create a book out of the stories I told my little girls about their fictional "13th GreatGrandmother Elise"

Rushed by carriage in the dark of night to the distant home of her absentee father, Elise copes with the untimely death of her beloved mother by outsmarting her tutor, Herr Krause, and the ch√Ętelaine, Madame Voclain.

Exploring the drafty turret two floors above her bedchamber, Elise spies movement in the heavily draped window across the castle's inner courtyard in the forbidden west wing of the castle. She explores winding staircases and a doorway hidden behind an aged tapestry in her quest to satisfy her curiosity. Along the way we discover how our crafty ancestors invented a flying machine, the water wheel, popcorn, improved gardening techniques and chocolate covered raisins.
