It's not every day Ol' Myrt here runs across such a delightful website as familyhistoryinart.com. Larry D. Macfarlane has taken his family history interest and combined it with his artistic talent to create one-of-a-kind paintings. I have an appointment to meet Larry in person on Friday. I am thinking of having him do a painting of Glen and Blanche's home in Medina, Washington.
SPEAKING OF IMAGES
Why Ol’ Myrt here may have to rethink FamilySearch Family Trees. Someone on
FamilySearch Family Trees shared this picture of my second great grandfather,
William Brockerman Wright, and his mother, Mary Ann (Brockerman) Wright. The
other people in this picture are not familiar to me. Mary Ann died in 1913, and
William died in 1916, so this image had to be taken before Mary Ann's 6 Nov

APG Association of Professional Genealogists adds second “virtual” chapter and Ol’ Myrt here is thrilled. APG: Why virtual chapters work well
How to set up the Ultimate Personal Google Maps from LifeHacker. We did this right after the 1940 census was released. My daughter Carrie Keele wrote: Not Your Mother's Genealogy: Using a custom Google map to share your genealogy . But until now, Ol’ Myrt didn’t think of using my smart phone to access this or other maps.
“This Stuff Never Happens to Me” by Jenny Lanctot in her blog Are My Roots Showing?
This from Carol Kostakos Petranek who is spearheading the scanning at the Maryland State Archives and she is talking about Shifting Gears. But... I am sitting on the fence, doing a bit of both. Her points are well taken!
Elizabeth Shown Mills responds to Silvereagle5946 who asks about citing marriage records including Affidavit, bonds, licenses and certificates. “Cite what you use.” -- Be sure to follow the link Elizabeth includes for detailed response on her website.
