Budget passed, Pennsylvania closures ended

This morning's NBC Today Show just reported the budget troubles forcing closure of many Pennsylvania government offices, parks and historical sites has ended, following the passing of a budget late last night, so I had to get up and find an online source to share with you.

This will come as good news to family historians, including Weiser Family Association members who are currently en route to the Conrad Weiser Homestead in Womelsdorf, PA.

Associated Press reporter Mark Scolford explains
“After weeks of sharp rhetoric and days of frantic negotiations, both Democratic Gov. Ed Rendell and Republican legislators claimed victory with the deal announced Monday night. Rendell outlined progress on issues ranging from health care and transportation to energy and education. Republican lawmakers boasted that they had beaten back seven proposed tax and fee increases.” For more info see: http://tinyurl.com/36ehg2
