Google Reader has been around for about a year or so, but it is new to Ol' Myrt. Google Reader is a method for “pulling in” blog feeds from your favorite genealogy writers. This may be a solution for Bob Gillis who tells me that occasionally there are “odd characters” in Thunderbird’s views of DearMYRTLE’s blog.
Google Reader is a web-based service so you don’t have to download anything to receive your feeds. You don’t even have to use your home computer. If you are traveling, you can receive Google Reader through your phone or go to any internet café or public library with public computers and log in at Google Reader. You must have a Gmail account, but that is a free email program.
