Ol’ Myrt here noticed changes to the FamilySearch website www.FamilySearch.org when using a computer at the Family History Library this past Thursday afternoon. Now that I am accessing the site using my home computer, I see this wasn’t just an internal change for Library patrons, but something all users of FamilySearch.org will notice.
Of particular interest is the change to the main Family History Library Catalog page. The page is more user friendly, explaining:
"Search the catalog of materials (including microfilm, microfiche, and publications) found at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah. Many items can be loaned to local Family History Centers around the world."
Of particular interest is the new emphasis on training folks to use the catalog more effectively:
- Lesson 1: Family History Library Catalog Navigation
- Lesson 2: How to use the Catalog
- Lesson 3: Tips for using Catalog
Be sure to Give them your feedback about these online classes.
Happy family tree climbing!
Myrt :)
