DearMYRTLE,
I am leaving for Poland on Saturday, May 1, my first trip and probably my last trip to the home of my ancestors. I am looking for my father's family, specifically Antoni Tomczyszyn, my grandfather and my grandmother, Agata Hudyma. I have papers that say they came from Polesie, Skalat, Galizien in 1907. All I want to know is where is this in present day Europe? I believe it is in the Ukraine but how do I find out. I would love to visit the area but time is short. Can you help?
DearTUMBLEKITE,
Preparing for assisting you on such a research trip would take far many more months than these few days allow.
For info on locations before and after WWII see JewishGen.org’s Town Finder.
May I also suggest a GOOGLE search?
Happy family tree climbing!
Myrt :)
