If you've been looking for an excuse to join Second Life -- we've got one for you now. There will be a three-part mini-series on Microsoft Excel for Genealogists in about a month. Here's the line-up:
13 July 2010, Tuesday, at Just Genealogy's fire pit
Excel - Part 1
Setting up an excel worksheet to list all sources reviewed in a genealogical project. This takes into account those records where you've found nothing relevant. Includes column headings, modifying cells alignment, numbering, etc. Homework: Enter ten to twenty rows of data, so we can go forward with that data in future sessions.
18 July 2010, Sunday, at the Family History Centre
Excel - Part 2
Sorting features including filters and 3-level sorts.
20 July 2010, Tuesday, at Just Genealogy's fire pit
Excel - Part 3
Adding tabs and duplicating entries in subsequent tabs using the "= (cell range)" feature.
