Prepare for FGS by printing important syllabus pages

18-21 August 2010
Knoxville Convention Center
Ol' Myrt here was happy to note that the Federation of Genealogical Societies has made available their syllabus for the next week's conference. Registered participants who will receive a CD version of the syllabus when picking up our registration packets may print out the pages for the classes we plan to attend to facilitate note taking during each session. In a communication from FGS President Pat Oxley:

The Conference Syllabus will be available online beginning Wednesday, August 4th for registered attendees to print handouts for sessions in advance of the conference.

You can go directly to the page at:  http://www.fgs.org/2010conference/syllabus

The page will also be accessible from the Registration page in the conference area.

You will need to enter your email address and the PIN that was sent to you when you registered. There will be an index to all the sessions, each with a clickable link to the individual syllabus PDF file.  Click on the link, and the PDF will be downloaded to your computer. You can then print that file if you desire.

·         Some printed syllabus copies will be available at the conference but the supply is limited. Copies are $30 while supply lasts. All registered attendees will receive a syllabus CD.

·         There will be a few tickets for luncheons and the evening events available for sale at the Registration Desk. Tickets for the Thursday evening banquet are close to sold out. Order your tickets by Sunday, August 8th to insure availability!

·         You may pick up your registration packets during the following hours:

Tuesday         3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Wednesday   7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Thursday       7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Friday             7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Saturday        7:00 AM – 10:00 AM

Ol' Myrt and Mr. DearMYRTLE will travel on Thursday and early Friday of this week to assist with setting up of the vendor hall and anything else we're called upon to do.

So although online registration is closed, sign up at the door for a one day pass or more. Visit the exhibit hall and learn from the software vendors and website gurus. Hope to see many of my DearREADERS and Genealogists in Second Life next week at the FGS Conference!

Happy family tree climbing!
Myrt     :)
Your friend in genealogy.
