Mesa FHExpo: Myrt's 3 presentations

Ol' Myrt is pleased to announce she will be attending the Arizona Family History Expo 21-22 January 2011 in Mesa, Arizona at Mesa Convention Center. Myrt's topics are:
  • Blogging for Beginners - Learn basic steps for setting using to create a blog to honor ancestors in just four easy steps. Includes basic settings, moderating comments, getting the word out about your new blog and a survey of sample blogs. Myrt will help motivated participants set up their own blogs using her computer in the vendor hall.
  • 7 Habits of Highly Successful Genealogists - A highly interactive class based in ideas from experienced genealogists who wished they had understood these research principles when they were just starting out.
  • How Ancestry’s Trees Can Jumpstart Your Research - A live demo of uploading a family tree from one's computer to Ancestry Trees. Includes discussion of 3 privacy level settings, and 2 methods for getting's computers to search for matches on each ancestor in the context of the family. Myrt doesn't work for Ancestry, but has concluded Ancestry Trees are an essential component of a reasonably exhaustive search.

Syllabus materials have been submitted, and the PowerPoints are finished. Now it is just a matter of NOT going through Flagstaff this year. (Last year, Mr. Myrt and I were caught in 55 inches of snow.) We'll take the slightly longer, but safer Las Vegas route this time.

If you crave warm weather in the midst of winter, and want to learn some new tricks then register today!

It's not just for "old dogs" you know!

Happy family tree climbing!
Myrt     :)
Your friend in genealogy.
