National Genealogical Society September Video Releases

The National Genealogical Society has released three new videos for the
month of September. All three videos are produced by Kate Geis and
Allen Moore.

The National Genealogical Society online interview series and the NGSGenealogy channel on YouTube present Cousins, with Leslie Anderson, MSLS, Reference Librarian at the Alexandria Library in Local History/Special Collections. A natural story teller and philosopher in her professional role, Leslie was the lead editor of the Virginia Slave Births Index, 1853-1865 compiled by the staff of the Alexandria Library and published by Heritage Books, Inc. In Cousins
Leslie describes a surprising relationship discovery. The video is

The September video offering for members from the National Genealogical Society is The ABCs of DNA & Family Health History with Thomas H. Shawker, MD.
This brief conversation provides an introduction to how DNA analysis
can support genealogical research as well as some basic guidelines for
studying your family health history. Thomas H. Shawker, MD, is a frequent lecturer on the subjects of DNA and family health history. He is the author of the NGS publication, Unlocking Your Genetic History: A Step-by-Step Guide to Discovering Your Family’s Medical and Genetic Heritage.
