Indexing: How about 10,340,879 in 24 hours?

Thanks for your enthusiastic response to the 1940 Census: HELP with the 5 million record day challenge. We did it. Here is the official word from FamilySearch.org:

Amazing! We passed the 5 million records goal in less than 16 hours and just kept going! Thank you to the 46,091 indexers and arbitrators who participated in this historic event.

  1. Thanks for the graphic. My personal contribution was only 3 batches, but it was fun to be apart of the event.

    My women's church group had set a goal of 10,000 names by the end of this month, not knowing that the world wide challenge was taking place. So many women are excited about this. I hope it will be come a Sunday morning ritual for them (or an addiction!!!)
