Scanning Day 4 Video

Sometimes we receive information, even well-documented information about people we don't yet recognize as family members. Though we cannot "keep everything", at least scan the documents to have on hand as you study kinship in the community where your ancestors once lived.

This video describes a manuscript written by a paternal great-grandmother's older sister who described crossing the plains in the mid-1800s and sleeping out on the plains at night under the stars. The story couldn't have been written by my great-grandmother as she wasn't born until the family had lived in Utah Territory for some years.

Special thanks to my daughter Carrie Keele of the Not Your Mother's Genealogy Blog for scanning and video assistance.

Happy family tree climbing!
