1812 Preserve the Pension Quilt

After a delightful conversation with Fred Moss, legal adviser to the Federation of Genealogical Societies, I've discovered the new FGS website has a donation page with the option to indicate the donation be entered in the 1812 Quilt Drawing. The intention is for every $1 donated, there is 1 opportunity to adopting the quilt. A computer-generated choice for the winner will be announced at FGS 2013.

Here's the link to the donation page mentioning either anonymous or 1812 Quilt donation.

Genea-Quilters created a commemorative quilt in support of the 1812 Preserve the Pensions Project, a joint effort of the Federation of Genealogical Societies and the National Archives (US). The commitment is that the images will be available to genealogy researcers and the public for free. Contributions to this project have already made these files available.

Happy family tree climbing!
