Devoted Personal Ancestral File
(PAF) users have been set adrift by the announcement[1]
from FamilySearch that PAF will no longer be supported. This is really nothing
new, since the genealogy management software hasn't been updated in 11 years.
Now RootsMagic offers a free RootsMagic for PAF Users: A
Quick Start Guide, downloadable in ebook and .pdf versions. PAF users are assured that their family history information is directly imported by RootsMagic seamlessly, without worries of anything like GEDCOM's faulty data loss or scrambling. RootsMagic is a FamilySearch Certified software program that integrates with FamilySearch.org. On page 10
we find a comparison of PAF and RootsMagic options.
