Reconstructing the lives of 1,200 Mitchelville, SC families

My RL (real life) and FB (Facebook) friend Kim Harrison asks:

"This postcard represents the Mitchelville area on Hilton Head Island. If you know any one that has African American roots with a connection to SC, have them reach out to the Heritage Library Foundation on Hilton Head Island. They have started gathering records and documents on about 1,200 families who at one time lived in Mitchelville. They also have information on some of the Union Soldiers stationed on the island as well."
