Mondays with Myrt is a live event - all about what's trending in the world of genealogy -- things that you are thinking about, things that come across Ol' Myrt's desk. Directions for JOINing and VIEWing follow my signature below. We start in about 45 minutes! Today's discussion topics include:
147 documents - Luana Darby is working on her AG, and estimates her 49 ancestors of interest will need about that number of birth, marriage and death records to prove her case. Of course, that doesn't include those "inferential genealogy" cases, where no single document proves the point. I just bet Cousin +Russ Worthington has something to say about this.
What did Russ, Randy and Ol' Myrt here do last week? We talked about collaboration, and came up with this video Ancestry Member Trees: Practical collaboration tips.
In related videos, see:
Context - Let's look at this post from the Evidence Explained page on Facebook by Elizabeth Shown Mills, Analyzing Census Data—Part 3: Context Matters!

Diane Giannini, CG is almost finished with her hand stitched quilt. |
How often does Facebook update to show comments on a post? This morning Ol' Myrt was reading the comments to a post by Randy Whitted on her iPad. When looking to share that same post from my computer, I discover the same post doesn't yet have all the comments that show up on my iPad. Refreshing the screen doesn't help.
Popplet Mind Maping. Coming on the heels of a cool webinar Mind Mapping Your Research Plans and Results by THomas MacEntee for FamilyTreeWebinars.com, Ol' Myrt here has been playing around with Popplet.com.
2 Things - Facebook friends have been assigning numbers, and asking friends to post X number of things we don't yet know about them. Kinda grade school-ish, kinda fun. Let's ask the Mondays with Myrt panel to mention 2 things we don't yet know about them.
Call for Panelists - the MGP Study Group 2 will start in February, and we need panelists from all corners of the genea-world to consider JOINing as a panelist. More info is found here. Ol' Myrt also recorded a video :
