Happy New Year 2014

Mr. Myrt and I take great pleasure in wishing each of my DearREADERS a very happy, healthy and joyous New Year.

HAPPY because we are excitedly "hunting for ancestors". (They should make a television show using that title!)

HEALTHY so we will have the strength to endure the task at hand. (This includes trips to remote cemeteries, dusty old courthouses, and not just clicking around on the internet! -- No more genea-couch potatoes!)

JOYOUS because we will bust through some of those genealogical brick walls! (No more expecting a single document to provide the answer we seek. Study up on the Genealogical Proof Standard, and have fun exploring alternative research methodologies.)

Ol' Myrt here chooses CREATIVE as my word for the year. It will apply in my approach to topics for Mondays with Myrt and of course, my personal research challenges.

I also plan to "major" in EVERNOTE this year: to discover it's ins and outs, and determine whether or not this is a necessary addition to my genealogy toolbox.

"May time deal gently with you dear,
And bring you a glad New Year."

Happy family tree climbing!
