Granite Mountain: It isn't just about microfilm anymore (Part 2)

These Granite Mountain vaults archive a master copies of microfilm and digital images. We previously viewed the Granite Mountain Record Vaults - Part 1. Now we are up for Part 1. With your help as a FamilySearch Indexing volunteer, the names on those archived pages are readily accessible to all.

"Digital technology has absolutely revolutionized the way that we are able to do family history now," says David Rencher, Chief Genealogical Officer at FamilySearch.

Indexing plays a vital role, enabling the researcher to dive into a particular record set previously hidden in dusty courthouse shelves.

FamilySearch Indexing encourages people throughout the world to participate in the massive indexing process. To that end, there have been annual incentive building projects. Last year, it was a 24-hour challenge and of course, Ol' Myrt and +Cousin Russ were there for the entire 24 hours using Hangout technology.

THIS YEAR? It's a one -WEEK indexing event.

And as usual, we support the indexing initiative 100%. #FuelTheFind

We need volunteers to join our Hangout at
and share their indexing experience - as indexers, arbitrators and end-users of the records indexes at
