52 THINGS: Battenberg Lace and Estelle Mae Phillips

This week O' Myrt has created a mini-journal to tell what she knows about her grandchildren's 3rd great-grandmother Estelle Mae Phillips. She sends her grandchildren on a journey to find clues in the old family bible, a 1920 US federal census enumeration and an official marriage return from Marion County, Iowa. One goal is to determine Chas. H. Goering's occupation as reported in 1920. The journal will accompany an intricately hand stitched and crocheted tablecloth.

Estelle Mae Phillips
born 30 Nov 1876/77 in Knoxville, Marion County, Iowa
married Charles Henry Goering 23 May 1900 at her parent's home in Knoxville.
died 11 Sep 1921 in Olathe, Johnson, Kansas
buried in Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville, Marion County, Iowa, next to her parents William Henry Phillips and Louisa Mae Terry.
